For the exterior there is a range of premium products from Smart Wax to Smart Sealant, products with Clay as well as an amazing Carnauba Wax. These do everything on the paint surface from cleaning and restoring through to giving a deep polished finish. The sealant protects the paint work from a lot of environmental damage. Because of Perth’s hot, dry climate and proximity to the coast here is no easy answer. Paint protection should be applied on a regular basis, at least twice a year. Claims by some companies of a one time application with a lifetime guarantee are not realistic.

I spent around a couple of thousand on a paint and leather protection package that had a lifetime warranty. Throw in the interest over 5 years and it becomes $3 000! The paint protector used Titanium Oxide and was meant to keep your paint in perfect condition because of its reaction with oxygen which is available in water and air. What an awesome product, but what happens when a lifetime guaranteed product does not work??

What happens is that there is a lot of finger pointing and you, the customer get stuffed around. The claims made were far too great for this product too achieve so I ended up bouncing between the dealership and the product manufacturer. The car paint protection has been applied three times now so I figured that I may as well do some research and find a better product.  

I came across a waterless car detailing range and was extremely impressed. The car protection product did a better job than the Titanium oxide and made no outrageous claims. My car is black so you can soon see if a product works or not. The product took account of the elements in its description and acknowledged that you would need to reapply to your car paintwork around twice a year. Honesty at last…how refreshing!
